i would say its an stiffness/ache rather than pain around the ankle and that the noise i heard when twisting happened was probably the ligament tearing, slight swelling still round the frontside ankle with no discolouration,

As far as the ankle goes... how does your one leg balance compare from injured side to non injured side? It is preventing you from surfing, or is it just annoying?

i am protecting my ankle while walking leading with the noninjured up steps or down steps , ankle sometimes clicking when i go up stairs with every step? ankle is just weak which is just anoying, surfing seems ok but not doing any snappy turns yetjust cruising .. cheers J
hi J , i have had a couple of surfs now and i have found the shoulder to hold up ok, but if i paddle to hard for a wave i can get a sharp pain, feels like somethings straining and not quite smooth in the paddle stroke, while paddling at maybe 70% seems ok.
