    Hey Josh!
It's Jamie again! Thanks again for all the advice you gave Tony last hockey season. I'm writing you today on my behalf. I have been training for my second marathon (9.5 weeks out) and I have strained my hamstring. I have been reading up and I believe that I have a second degree strain. I have swelling, aching, pain if I straighten my leg (from a seated position), and finally pain while walking. My original problem occurred when I ran my first 10k 3 weeks ago. It wasn't bad and I took it easy for the last 3 weeks. But on Sunday after my long run (13 miles), my hamstring was junk. Seems to be getting worse in the last few days. I know to RICE...but what else can I do? How long do you think I will be out? Should I go see someone? Finally do you think I can still run a PR on Dec 6? I know lots of questions! Thanks for helping. HUGS from Canada,
    Jamie

  2. "Grant Chamberlain",

When did the injury occur...On what date? VERY important!

Are you running in good shoes? How old are they? How many miles are on them?

Until you get back to me, "RIC" it on a small stretch position...sitting on the couch with the leg out is usally best.

Get back ASAP and we will move fwd with this...
