I treat this all the time...

Is it lateral, or medial? Lateral I am guessing!

    Have you done any massage?

Are you on any blood thinners?
I have a treatment you should try...

Get back to me first, and we'll move fwd...
If you know anyone else dealing with something, spread the word about the FORUM.

    Thanks for your question,

Thanks, Josh- Yes, have done some massaging, wearing a brace now that goes in freezer ( has little pack on it) I don't want to take too much anti- inflam drugs, and answer to your question, no, not on any blood thinners- Just a very stubborn case I guess- Also hurts way more in the morning when you wake up, due to stiffness I guess- I will spread the word about the forum- Thanks!

  7. OKAY, here is what you do...

With a spoon, good lotion (we use cocoa butter in the clinic)...

Sit with your injured arm on a table with your wrist flexing downward over the edge of the table. Lather up from the lateral epicondyle (bone where pain begins) down your arm along all of the muscles.

Now, the spoon edge: If you can find one at home that isn't very thin, but still a metal, that would be better. We have tools in the clinic, but you can use a spoon at home. Starting at the bone, apply the spoon edge at approx a 70-80 angle to your skin. Keep your wrist flexed down. Apply a fair amount of pressure with the spoon (start light and progress as tolerated). You are going to stroke the spoon from the bone down towards the wrist along the muscle bellys. This might take you 2-3 strokes to get them all. Do those 2-3 strokes in the same direction, and then repeat coming up from the wrist to the bone, watching your angle, keeping the skin slippery, and monmitoring your pressure. Do 3 stokes down and up with the broad base of your spoon, and then try 2 more down and up with the tip of the spoon over areas you found to be most sensitive prior.

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOUR response was! Go easy at first and work up pressure as tolerated. I expect you to have some discomfort when doing this. Perhaps seeing some increased redness in areas where your pain during the scrape is most prevelant.

After you SCRAPE, then stretch the wrist down, with elbow straight for 3-4 sets of as many seconds as you are old. Then, do no-weighted active wrist movements, up/down, turning, and some light griiping exercises...all guided by pain. About 15 reps each, pending pain/discomfort.

Ice the same area after for 10 minutes.

LET ME KNOW your response and I'll let you know when to do it again. This treatment is designed to allow people to continue working/playing while receiving it. Perfect, based on what you told me about your case.

    KEEP IN TOUCH...
