License Renewal

Please be aware that current Florida physical therapist and physical therapist assistant licenses expire at midnight, Eastern Time, on November 30, 2009.

The Board of Physical Therapy Practice has notified us that it will mail postcards this year, as opposed to renewal reminder notices as it has in the past. The board encourages the renewal of licenses online where you may also update your address information as well. For more information with regard to the online renewal process, go to:

Every licensee must complete 24 hours of approved continuing education (CE) within the two year licensure period (biennium). Every licensee who holds an active license for the state of Florida is required to complete the required continuing education regardless of where you live or if/where you work. It is the licensee’s responsibility to ensure the courses are approved for Florida Physical Therapy. The requirements are:

HIV/AIDS is only required for your first renewal. Applicants licensed in the second half of the biennium (On and after December 1 of an even year) are exempt from all CE requirement for their first renewal except for the one (1) hour HIV/AIDS.
